- Visit to Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun
We visited the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG), Dehradun, where we were introduced to the fundamentals of Himalayan geology. The session helped us understand different types of rocks and minerals and their formation, interior of the earth. We also learned the basics of palaeontology, including how fossils are formed and studied to interpret Earth’s past environments. This visit helped us understand the geological background of the forests and landscapes we work in, and how these factors influence soil, vegetation, and overall ecosystem development. - Visit to Directorate of Forest Education
We visited the Directorate of Forest Education (DFE), where we received a warm welcome from the Director, Smt. Meera Iyer, IFS. In her address, she encouraged us to remain firm and strong against any illegal or negative influences and reminded us of the importance of standing together for a good cause. She also delivered an informative presentation on sustainable organic waste management through city farming practices. The programme inspired us to uphold these values and motivated us to become responsible, reliable, and committed officers when we return to our respective ranges.
